In Wonderland was premiered the 15th of April 2018 in Tallinn during the festival Estonian Music Days. The piece gets inspiration from a “ur-lullaby” that babies sing to theirselves around the age of 1, and it simply consists in a repetitive and self-hypnotizing descending glissando. Starting from this very basic but universal material, I tried to bring to the extreme the possible variations without altering the core of the idea, which is for me getting lost into repetition. At the same time the minimal variations accompany the listener through a journey in a wonderland of different sounds, in a real discovery of the doublebass. The trip has no beginning and no end, and can be played for as long time as it is needed.
